Copyright Information

Please be aware that music titles, movies and other media applications are protected by copyright and, as a general rule, may only be copied with the explicit permission of the copyright owners.

We recommend to use any storage media for legal purposes only.

DVD Labelling

We explicitly recommend you not to use labels to identify and design your records on a DVD. Labelling a DVD inevitably causes unbalancing, which in turn gives rise to inaccurate writing. Also, the reading process will be interfered with, even if the disc is labelled after the writing process. This also applies to labels specifically offered for DVD applications.

Mark your DVDs with a suitable soft, permanent pen. Alternatively, use printable DVD-R / DVD+Rs such as GIGATAIN DVD-R 4.7 GB inkjet-printable WHITE or SILVER. For use on a thermal transfer printer, we recommend GIGATAIN 4.7 GB thermal transfer-printable WHITE.

CD-R 90min 800 MB

Depending on the model, not every CD-R/CD-RW recorder is suitable for recording 800 MB/90min-CD-Rs. Also, your recording software needs to be capable of recording capacities over 700 MB. Detailed information will be provided by CD recorder manufacturers or recording software suppliers (e.g. NERO, ROXIO).

Two recommendations in advance: To achieve ideal results, always select the "disc at once" mode for recording and also choose maximum recording speed (4x).

NB: Depending on the system, the recording software also may index capacities over 700 MB/80 min. This is not a manufacturing error. Settings can be adjusted in your recording software. Make sure that capacity does not exceed 800 MB.

DVD+R 8x/16x speed discs are dedicated for use on DVD+R/ + RW-compatible PC drives and video recorders. They comply with the standard of 1-16x speed DVD+R recording media. Prior to use on DVD+R/ +RW drives or recorders that do not support "4x-recording", a firmware update is required. Firmware is provided by your hardware supplier or at www.DVDRWservices.com. Using a disc without an update can cause writing errors or even damage existing files.

DVD+R DL 8x Speed

DVD+R DL single sided 8x speed discs are compatible with all DL drives and recorders, as well as the majority of DVD-Rom and DVD video players. Single sided discs capable of storing up 8.5Gb of Data or over 120 hours of MP3 files. Using a disc without an update can cause writing errors or even damage existing files.

Firmware Update

To avoid potential compatibility trouble, make sure that your recorder software is constantly updated with the current firmware version (Windows-Flash). Your recorder will then be able to recognise previously unknown DVDs and will be able to burn them.

Always check the firmware release installed on your recorder first and then search for the latest version available from your recorder manufacturer. DVD manufacturers constantly release firmware-updates including new media and make them available on their websites.
